Our Story

How It Began

The roots of the HW Hellman Building go back to 1903, when Herman W. Hellman invested $1.5 million into its construction. This made it the most expensive office building in Los Angeles at the time. His designer used a Beaux-Arts aesthetic, which architecture enthusiasts instantly fell in love with.

Since then, ownership of the property has changed twice, but both holders have made a point of protecting its timeless beauty.

History Rewritten

In 1976, the building experienced two big shifts: The name being changed to Banco Popular and an extensive renovation. Coming into the modern age, it was renovated again in 2012, which turned it into a luxury apartment building and added a variety of modern amenities.

The property you see today is a unique combination of historic beauty, modern luxury, and an unbeatable living experience.
